Treasury securities are government bonds which double up as debt financing instruments of the United States Federal government, are issued by the Department of the Treasury through the Bureau of the Public Debt. They are often referred to simply as 'Treasuries'. There are four kinds of treasury securities namely, Treasury Notes, Treasury Bills, Treasury Bonds, and Savings Bonds. All of the Treasury securities (except Savings Bonds) are very liquid and are usually heavily traded on the secondary market.
