• Stock shows mixed results bereft of consumer concern
The slowdown of the consumer spending was the major concern of the market but the stock ended mixed the last day as the broader market ended relatively flat. While some parts of the economy showed unsatisfactory sales updates from several high profile companies in the discretionary sector (-1.2%), on the other technology stocks showed broad gains.

The bond market has opened in negative territory as the market awaits upcoming events. The stock markets are showing losses with Dow down 65 points and Nasdaq down 20 points. The bond market is currently down 3/32, which with recent late weakness will push the mortgage rates higher by approximately .250 of a discount point over last day’s morning rates.
