When it comes to decision making in homeowner associations, parliamentary procedure (like Roberts Rules) is often the basis for making them. It provides a systematic and efficient way to get business done. However, parliamentary procedure is based on the democratic notion of "majority rules." Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose. Americans have come to think this is the best option. While the system works pretty well, there is another process for decision making called "Formal Consensus."
 
11/21/2007 Mortgage loan applications, interest rates fall
Mortgage loan applications for the week ending Nov. 16 fell 3.6 percent on a seasonally adjusted basis from a week earlier, with refinance and adjustable-rate mortgages accounting for a larger share of applications than the week before, the Mortgage Bankers Association reports.

Median single-family resale home prices rose in 62 percent of metro areas tracked by the National Association of Realtors in the third quarter compared to third quarter 2006, according to a report released today, while the U.S. median price fell 2 percent and total existing-home sales dropped in most states.
