A real estate broker is the person who brings both the sellers and the buyers of property together. They work to successfully market property that is for sale and they broker the deals in the best interests of their clients. This may mean the most expensive price if they are working for the sellers or the least expensive one when they are working on behalf of the buyers. In most places one must have a license or a certificate in order to be a real estate broker, if one wants to be able to get paid legally.
There are a few different descriptions that can apply to one that is a real estate broker, for example:

If you are the person running the show at a brokerage firm then you are a broker

If you work for a real estate agency then you are a broker

If you have a brokerage license then you are a broker
