Mortgage
Basics
What is LTV
A
ratio that indicates how much of your home's equity you're
borrowing. For example, if your home is appraised at $100,000 and
you have a $60,000 mortgage balance, you have $40,000 in home
equity. $60,000 dived by $100,000 equals to 60% LTV.
Many lenders only allow you to borrow up to 80%
loan-to-value.
