The Ever Great Gardening Hat! Kate Sanderson So here is something I came across that I found very cool. I often work out in our garden; it is my pride and joy. I lovingly tend to my fresh tomatoes, corn, and cucumbers. Perhaps I am biased, but I truly think that vegetables taste far better straight from a garden. One issue that I run into quite frequently is that of pesky insects. Buzzing and biting me all over, I can't stand them! Bug spray does not seem too effective, plus it leaves me smelling odd and sticky on the skin. A friend recently suggested I try a gardening hat: a wide-brimmed hat equipped with mesh netting that covers your face and drops down past your collarbone. The netting can then be cinched so the bottom is not loose and open. I have to say I really think the invention is ingenious. I can wear gloves, long pants, and a long sleeve shirt to protect from the bugs, but how do you protect your face and neck? And they are relatively inexpensive. I thought I would share my discovery of the gardening hat with all my fellow gardeners; hopefully you will find it as beneficial as I have! Happy Gardening!
