GreenMan Projects Announces Premier Of GreenManRadio Podcast

Popular garden writer, editor and producer takes his words to the web in a podcast combined with an e-magazine and a blog.

Des Moines, Iowa (PRWEB) August 20, 2006 -- Long time garden writer and media producer Glen O. Seibert announced his company has released a unique gardening and home landscape design Podcast called GreenManRadio. The web-based show, at www.greenmanradio.com , is paired with a simple magazine-style Website.

“When I was editing for major gardening magazines I was always frustrated by the limitations of space, time and editorial style,” Seibert explained. “I could never be spontaneous with content because of the rigid style limitations, or particularly timely because of the fixed publication schedules. GreenManRadio has no such limitations. I have a truly listener-driven show that can respond to events in the gardening world almost instantly.”

Beyond the timely nature of its content, the pairing of a podcast and e-magazine is unique, Seibert believes.

“I don’t think I’ve come across this particular garden how-to format on the Web yet. GreenManRadio is first and foremost an internet radio show- a podcast. But gardening is such a visual art form you simply have to have graphics and drawings, plans and of course, great photographs to round out the spoken word. There aren’t any bells and whistles, no glitz. Just simple, solid information.”

There’s also a link to a more informal, personal blog where Seibert can let down his hair a little more.

In addition to articles, plant profiles and design, the web pages will feature projects, an upcoming nationwide events calendar and a Yahoo! Groups forum for listeners to share gardening questions, tips and techniques. The podcast will feature interviews with the movers and shakers of the landscape and gardening industry.

“Each medium, graphic and audio, will be used to its strengths and advantages,” explained Seibert. “In the near future, we’ll also be adding video interviews and how-to presentations to the show. I think the overall product will grow into that classic sum of the parts being greater than the whole. I know I’m having a ball doing it!”
