A great patio would not only please you, but it could also please your guests. Ever felt like getting away on a beach somewhere with palm trees and the waves sweeping the sandy floors? A great thing about hammocks is that it can give you that wonderful feeling of vacation at the shores. Give the patio a makeover by installing a hammock for that touch of elegance. There are a few types of hammocks to choose from. A fabric hammock provides more comfort to the body and there is no need to fix the hammock up with pillows or a body liner. A Brazilian hammock is elegant yet suitable for everyday use. In terms of ventilation however, none can beat the rope hammock. They are well-designed with outstanding workmanship. This makes them more exclusive. Your hammock can be situated anywhere in the garden. Overlooking the pool or the fountain. Hammocks are available in small and big sizes. For big ones, two persons can go at the same time. When you want to spend longer hours in the backyard, consider getting a patio heater. These heaters can either heat a small area of the patio or the whole patio itself. Patio heaters now are mostly electricity generated; however, if you still fancy the older coal heaters, you can also opt for this. In the old days hammocks used to be strung between two trees, although this is still possible most home would not have large enough trees for this purpose. A hammock stand would be the answer to this problem; a hammock stand will enable you to place the hammock wherever you wish. You can put the hammock next to the pool under a patio umbrella, if you do so you might opt for a vinyl coated material the same goes for the outdoor cushions. This is better suited for the elements and doesn't rot, is waterproof and dries fast. On the flipside you won't feel quite as cool on the vinyl coated polyester material. Cotton hammocks are more suited for the indoors as the fabric can fade and the moisture from rain and dew will eventually wear down the fiber. Quilted hammocks are usually water resistant. Whatever your needs, there are many color schemes available and many price points for these hammocks. Don't be nervous if it is your first time getting into a hammock. You need to balance yourself and don't try any sudden pull. The most effective way is to pull it under you while smoothly getting into the middle. Use your body to make you stable by holding the hammock one side and move your leg on the fabric. Once you are inside the hammock you will feel as snug as a caterpillar in its cocoon. Lying on a hammock is so comfortable you will feel like you are floating on a cloud. One final tip, don't sit dangling on the edge as it will probably flip over and hit you on the top of the head. Once you have mastered the art of climbing into a hammock, you might not want to sit in any other chairs as a hammock is by far much more comfortable. About the Author
