Easily Overlooked Tips On Selling Your House
I’ll bet you could use some tips on selling your house. Because the last thing you want when looking to sell your place is for word to get out that it lacks curb appeal. We both know you only get one chance to make a good first impression. Fail at that and some prospective buyers may not even get out of their Realtor’s car.
To insure that doesn’t happen here’s some things you could easily turn into a checklist. Just to make sure you have dotted your i's and crossed your t's. Some of these are obvious but easily overlooked. A good reason to make sure you’re paying attention to these tips on selling your house.
Sweep the street by the curb out front. Getting up all grass clippings, leaves, litter and weeds that have taken root. Or anything else that might give even the slightest hint of neglect.
Remove weeds growing inbetween sections of the front walk. And edge all side walks to give your place a nice crisp feel.
If paint won't do it spring for a replacement mail box. Those shiny brass ones always catch my eye. And if the porch light doesn't respond to cleaning the dead bugs out of the globe you might look into a shiny new one of those too.
Oil the hinges on the storm door. No creak is a good creak when the door is opened by buyers.
Here's a bulletin: Make sure the yard is rid of any presents left by your pet. Could be one of the more important tips on selling your house since there’s nothing worse than stepping in fresh doo-doo.
Once you’ve decided to sell dig out the spreader, buy plenty of fertilizer and green up the yard. Water frequently so it stays green and healthy. And apply some weed killer also so what's green is actually grass.
Trim the shrubs, cut the dead branches out of the trees and maybe put down some fresh mulch around the trees too.
Depending on the time of year, flowering annuals can put on an inviting and colorful display all their own.
Stow your fishing boat off site.
Clean and seal the asphalt driveway. And if buyers are scheduled, park your vehicles down the street so your drive can be easily sized up.
If you’ve got siding paint it. Replace any that’s cracked, dented, or defective in any way. Same for the gutters and downspouts. And clean the shutters. You want the exterior of the house to scream well maintained.
Another nice touch is window boxes with a colorful cascade of flowers.
Windex every window. Replace any cracked glass. If screens are in make sure there are no tears visible.
Attend to those pesky stains on the deck and seal it. Same goes for those unsightly oil stains on the garage floor. If need be use dry cement to pull out the oil stain like magic.
