How To Maximize Your Fans For Better Cooling
You can use some simple physics tricks to maximize the cooling power of your fans.
Your body cools itself by sweating. The cooling effect comes when the sweat evaporates. Sweat evaporates faster, if you are sitting in the airflow of a fan, making you cooler.
A pan of ice placed in the airflow of a fan will cool the air and add moisture which will also help cool you as it evaporates.
To get cool air into your home (you get it at nightime), particularly on the upper floors the best way to do it is to draw the cool air in. You can follow these steps:
1) Open the doors and windows in the bedrooms.
2) Put the fan in another room near the bedrooms and point it out the window.
3) Cover part of the window above the fan with a towel. This forces the air out of the room, making the fan work as an extractor, if you don’t do that the air will just loop around, out of the fan and back in through the window and out the fan again, what is useless.
All this will force air out of the room the fan is in. This in turn draws air in through the nearest windows, which will be nice and cool and close to you. This is using negative pressure, lower pressure on the inside to draw cool air in.
Doing this simple things you can dramatically improve your cooling needs. By: Juan Uflerbaumer Article Source: http://www.ArticleDashboard.com Juan Uflerbaumer writes about Portable Air Compressor , Tool Hardware and Automotive Tool
