By now you’ve probably seen the unbearable adverts on television and had their catchy jingles stuck in your head all day but car insurers that cater specifically for women have become increasingly popular with the fairer sex.  Obviously there are the lower priced policies for them as they are rumoured to be “safer drivers” but in recent months it’s been revealed that these niche insurers have much broader appeal than cheaper car insurance.

Most car insurance policies for women now don’t just cover the car itself, but the contents too.  Many insurers offer handbag cover so if you’ve left your handbag on the passenger seat whilst paying for petrol and it gets pinched then you will be covered for the contents.

Many of these policies will offer around £300 worth of handbag cover so that could cover an iPod or a mobile phone which would typically make up the bulk of the cost of the handbags contents.

As well as this, one women's car insurance company will offer a mobile phone tracking service in the event of a theft which would be welcome if you want your mobile phone back and not for it to be replaced without all the photos and messages intact.  Other offers on these insurance policies include shopping vouchers and a replacement car within two hours.

These perks have been determined by insurance companies researching the requirements that women drivers say are most important when it comes to choosing a motor insurer.  It was stated by one insurer that “women want to be back on track as soon as possible and with minimal disruption” and so features such as the 2 hour replacement have proved vital.

So women looking for cheap car insurance have more to look forward to than simply cheaper rates but a long list of features that you are less likely to find elsewhere.
