Above Ground Pools Really Have Changed Over the Years Gerald Johannesberg Perhaps you can remember back to a time when you were a child and one of your neighbors had an above ground pool in their backyard. If you can, then chances are that pool that you remember bears little resemblance to todays above ground pools. To begin with, above ground pools are now semi submerged into the ground. This means that they are a lot deeper in both the shallow end and the deep end as well. This also means that todays above ground pool can even have a diving board installed at the deep end.Prefabricated wrap around decks are also available that completely encase an above ground pool now. The result is that it is more difficult than ever to distinguish a concrete built in pool from an above ground pool that costs a fraction of the price of a standard built in. Designers have had decades to fine tune the above ground pool and some of the improvements that they have come up with are truly amazing. For instance, plain blue pool liners have been replaced with choices in several amusement-park-style po sure are all permanently emblazoned on the liner and they will never fade. So, while above ground pools are a lot more then they used to be, one thing about them hasn't changed at all. That is that they are still very affordable and take only a few days at the most to set up. Whats more, you don't have to own a home to have an above ground pool installed in its back yard, because when you move you can take it apart and take it with you.
